Asian solvent-grade mixed xylene $12/mt higher week over week at $646/mt FOB Korea on Oct. 31, due to the continued tightness in the spot market. A distributor attributed the price increase in solvent MX markets to “tighter supply and a reduced cargo size,” highlighting the constraints of limited spot supply in the market. However, one trader expressed a differing opinion, saying that December is typically a seasonally weak period, which is anticipated to put downward pressure on prices. The trader added that he would prefer not to hold inventory during this time.
