Asian solvent-grade mixed xylene $6/mt higher week over week at $660/mt FOB Korea on Sept. 26, amid limited supply due to strong gasoline blending activities. “The increase in gasoline blending activities limited solvent MX production,” said a buyer of solvent MX, as he noted that several naphtha-fed crackers opted not to extract aromatics from the pygas, choosing instead to sell it as a gasoline blending component. The limited spot offerings resulted in subdued discussions.
