The market remained under pressure with weak demand, abundant prime resin, Asia-based market sources said. Although the grade carrying the Global recycled Standard was heard to be selling at 20% higher, sources said this grade was not traded. The Asian recycled low density polyethylene market was down in the week to Sept. 17 on weak demand. Market observers said many recyclers had to accept lossmaking ventures or risk going out of business. Sellers rely heavily on long-term relationships and steady clients, with little appetite for speculative stocking, they said.
