Asian PVC: CFR SE Asia prices fall on weak demand, competition from China cargoes / CFR China prices steady amid thin trading activity / Intense price competition among Chinese exporters

Asian polyvinyl chloride prices were mixed to lower in the week ending Nov. 19. CFR Southeast Asia prices fell due to weak demand, year-end destocking from the US and competition from Chinese cargoes. PVC CFR China prices steady week over week at $690/metric ton on Nov. 19. A Northeast Asia-based producer said offers, stable at that level, were met with a lack of buying interest as end-users remained on the sidelines. PVC CFR Southeast Asia prices were assessed down $25/mt at $625/mt over the same period. A Southeast Asia-based producer said prices were likely to fall due to weak demand in the region, year-end destocking from the US and competitively priced cargoes from China.
