Asian polyethylene terephthalate prices softened in the week ended Sept. 10, pressured by weaker upstream costs. Asian PET at $760/mt FOB Northeast Asia on Sept. 10, down $5/mt week over week, while FOB Southeast Asia was assessed at $845/mt, also down $5/mt over the same period. Producers were heard lowering offers in line with a drop in purified terephthalic acid prices, though demand for bottle-grade PET remained subdued amid a seasonal lull, sources said.
