Southeast Asian LLDPE prices fell sharply in the week to Oct. 22, amid waning buying appetite and continued supply of competitively-priced US cargoes into the region. LLDPE Butene CFR Southeast Asia down $40/ mt week over week at $855/mt Oct. 22, while LLDPE Butene CFR Vietnam was down $35/mt at $860/mt over the same period. A Southeast Asian trader said it was difficult to move cargoes due to the wide buy-sell gap. Buyers were not in a hurry to purchase due to high inventory levels and were willing to wait for lower prices. “US cargoes are already flooding the market. Maybe customers have already bought, and their stock level is high,” said the first trader. However, sources said that Asian market participants have started to take a more cautious approach...
