Southeast Asian polyethylene prices softened in the week to Sept. 24 amid an influx of competitively priced US cargoes and continued slow demand. HDPE film down $25/mt week over week at $885/mt CFR Southeast Asia Sept. 24. LLDPE butene was assessed $20/mt lower week over week at $900/mt CFR SE Asia, an all-time low. “The situation during this year-end is not as good as last year’s. With the tariff situation and new capacities from China this year, it is not looking too good,” said a producer. In Vietnam, HDPE film fell $10/mt week over week to $890/ mt, while LLDPE fell $10/mt to $900/mt over the same period.
