Purified terephthalic acid prices in India fell in the week to Sept. 5, tracking the downtrend in feedstock paraxylene values, led by weaker crude and subdued demand. The spread between CFR China and CFR India prices narrowed from a week earlier. PTA CFR India down $13/mt week over week to $699/mt on Sept. 5, resulting in a spread with CFR China of $75/mt. The spread was within indications heard at $75-$80/ mt over CFR China, equating to $699-$704/mt CFR India. The weekly average fell $12.4/mt to $703.4/mt CFR India. The spread between CFR China and CFR India narrowed $3/mt from a week earlier. PTA CFR India rose $4/mt day over day, tracking an increase in feedstock paraxylene prices.
