2-EH, NBA, and IBA rise on firmer propylene / PA stable amid soft naphthalene / Plasticizers up on pre-Lunar New Year demand

Asian oxo-alcohol prices firmed in the week to Jan. 29, supported by higher upstream feedstock costs and restocking activity. 2-ETHYLHEXANOL Asian spot 2-ethylhexanol prices were supported by firmer upstream propylene prices, alongside improved restocking demand from downstream plasticizer producers ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays, market participants said. Asian propylene prices have climbed to their highest levels in around nine months, driven by rising propane costs, multiple plant shutdowns across Northeast Asia, and stronger downstream demand ahead of the Lunar New Year. The CFR China propylene marker reached $825/mt on Jan. 29, the highest since April 25, 2025, when prices were also assessed at $825/mt.
