Sentiment in the Asian nylon market was stable to slightly weaker for the week ended Sept. 17 as tepid demand weighed on prices. Spot offer levels were heard at the $1,190-$1,300/mt range on a FOB basis during the week, but buyers showed little interest in these offers. "I offered ... but my customers don't accept [the] current price," said a China-based seller. A producer source indicated that inventory pressure remains high, prompting some producers to lower their operating rates to alleviate the pressure. Sources said trade discussions were muted as buyers kept buying indications below $1,180/mt. Despite the lackluster demand, sellers were unwilling to reduce offers, citing squeezed margins.
