Asian nylon-6 prices fell in the week to Sept. 24, as slower downstream demand ahead of the Golden Week holidays and inventory pressure weighed on the market. Offer levels from producers were mostly lower during the week, with sales reportedly subdued despite inventory holders' inclination to offload due to immense inventory and cash flow pressure, according to sources. "Despite sellers' efforts to slash prices and facilitate deals, the downstream sector shows little interest in stocking up before the holidays," a Chinese producer said. In the export market, overseas buyers were mostly bearish and in a wait-and-see mode, anticipating lower pricing levels and ocean freight rates, according to several China-based exporters.
