The Asian methyl methacrylate market continued to be shaped by Northeast Asia supply tightness due to low inventories heard in Taiwan and reduced plant operating rates in China, on top of the coming Lunar New Year season. Asian methyl methacrylate remained steady week over week at $1,175/mt CFR China and $1,280/mt CFR Southeast Asia, despite higher offer levels heard in the region. Thinner trading discussions were heard in lieu of the coming Chinese holidays, with short supply heard both in Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. “Taiwan will be short on supply until April,” a regional producer said.
