Asian MMA-PMMA: Prices hold firm on steady fundamentals / Thin spot trading discussions for Jan 2026 / PMMA prices down on weaker Chinese domestic prices

Asian methyl methacrylate was assessed at $1,135/mt CFR China on Dec. 17, steady week over week from Dec. 10. CFR Southeast Asia also remained stable at $1,190/mt during the same period. Spot trading discussions were limited, though offers for January 2026 were heard. A Chinese producer mentioned an offer at $1,155/mt FOB China, higher than another offer heard at $1,140/ mt FOB China. On Dec. 16, the producer said methyl methacrylate operating rates in China had slowed, prompting replenishing activity that supported China domestic prices. Polymethyl methacrylate closed at $1,592/mt CFR China on Dec. 17, down $5/mt week over week from Dec. 10, considering weaker Chinese domestic prices, which had fallen Yuan 500 on Dec. 12.
