Asian MMA-PMMA: Prices soften amid weaker demand / Trade heard between Formosa and China / China MMA inventory levels remain high

The Asian methyl methacrylate market was down $5/mt week over week during Nov. 12-19, for both MMA CFR China and MMA CFR Southeast Asia. MMA CFR China was assessed at $1,150/mt, while MMA CFR Southeast Asia closed at $1,995/mt on Nov. 19. Asian MMA prices weakened in line with lower offers heard from both Chinese and regional producers. In the Southeast Asian MMA market, thin trading discussions were heard, although buying interest levels were heard at about $1,160-$1,180 CFR WCI for the November loading laycan in the previous week that ended Nov. 12. China-based sellers said Nov. 19 that such levels were lower than expected.
