Asian MMA prices rose $25/mt week over week to $1,185/ mt CFR China and $10/mt week over week to $1,240/mt CFR Southeast Asia Sept. 17, underpinned by the strength in the China marker. The Chinese MMA market continued its upward momentum in the week of Sept. 10-17, driven by tightening supply and emerging spot demand. Domestic discussion levels rose by approximately Yuan 250-350/mt week over week, reaching Yuan 10,100-10,150/mt in East China and Yuan 10,550-10,750/mt in South China Sept. 17. The strength in pricing is reportedly supported by restocking activity from a newly launched downstream PMMA producer, which is currently sourcing exclusively from the spot market due to the absence of term contracts.
