Asian Methanol: Chinese prices soften amid continued slow demand / CFR China down $3/mt on week / US Treasury sanctions eight Indian petrochemical companies

Chinese methanol prices softened in the week to Oct 10, amid continued sluggish demand after the Golden Week holidays. CFR China methanol down $2/mt on day and down $3/mt on week Oct 10. Meanwhile East China methanol was up Yuan 3/mt on day and down Yuan 31/mt on week over the same period. Demand-supply fundamentals held largely stable day over day, said trading sources. In related market news, the US Treasury Department Oct. 9 added eight major Indian petrochemical trading companies to its list of individuals, entities and vessels sanctioned for trading Iranian petroleum and petrochemicals, reported.
