The Asian gasoline market complex was heard strengthening March 9, amid firm Indonesian demand ahead of Eid al-Fitr and on the back of limited regional supplies due to tensions in the Middle East constricting crude flows through the Strait of Hormuz. In tenders, Indonesia’s Pertamina was heard seeking 70,000 barrels of 98 RON gasoline for April 3-7 delivery via a tender that closes March 9, previously reported. Indonesia’s Pertamina was also heard seeking 170,000 barrels of 105 RON gasoline over April 6-8, via a tender that closes March 10, previously reported. “Gasoline in Asia is facing problems since China halted exports and [South] Korea, Taiwan heard considering doing the same,” a Southeast Asian analyst shared.
