Asian Isomer Mixed Xylene prices at $926/ mt FOB Korea on the March 6 close, up $36/mt day over day. The CFR Taiwan and CFR China markers closed at $950/mt and $934/ mt, respectively, March 6, tracking the FOB Korea marker. Upstream, it was heard from a South Korea-based producer that refineries in Japan and South Korea were still considering adjustments to production rates, with a second producer indicating that such decisions hinged on the respective governments’ allocations of crude oil reserves to refineries. There would be greater clarity on specific changes to production rates once the refineries have knowledge of their own reserve allocations, a South Korean trader said.
