The prices in the Indian styrene monomer market remained stable in the week of Oct. 1 amid thin trade activity. the weekly styrene monomer CFR India marker up $38/mt from the last assessment at $1,513/mt Oct. 1, under an offer heard at $1,550-$1,570/mt CFR India. The premium to CFR China was stable week over week at $144/mt on Oct. 1, under the lowest offer level heard at CFR China plus $145/mt and above buying indications heard at CFR China plus $140/mt. “Many buyers have already bought enough material for the forward month,” said a Mumbai-based importer, “Prices are expected to remain firm, supported by higher upstream costs.” The ex-tank offer level at the domestic Hazira port was heard at Rupees 149- 150/kg, remaining stable week over week. “CFR India offers...
