The prices in the Indian styrene monomer market rose in the week to Sept. 4, tracking the China market and tightness in supply. the weekly styrene monomer CFR India marker up $108.50/metric ton from the last assessment at $1,416/ mt on Sept. 4, under corroborated offers heard in the range of $1,420-$1,450/mt CFR India from buyers and sellers. The premium to CFR China was up $4/mt week over week at $134/mt on Sept. 4, under the lowest offer level heard at CFR China plus $135-$140/mt and above buying ideas at CFR China plus $130/mt. Spot discussions turned higher this week as US-Iran tensions rose, and sellers cited higher offers for China-origin material.
