Asian PVC: Prices under pressure from lower Nov offers / Formosa reduces offer by $35-$40/mt MOM for Nov / Domestic China prices fall amid sluggish demand

Asian PVC prices were stable to weak in the week to Oct. 22 as market participants adopted a wait-and-see approach on the back of sluggish demand. Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics announced its PVC offers for November at $670/mt CFR China and at $720/mt CFR India, both down $40/mt compared to October offers, and at $690/mt CIF Southeast Asia, down $35/mt month over month, reported Oct. 16. PVC CFR China down $15/mt week over week at $690/mt Oct. 22, considering trades into China. Participants expected CFR China prices to decline in line with the falling domestic market. PVC CFR Southeast Asia unchanged at $650/ mt over the same period. Prices have been pressured by supply from the US and Northeast Asia, a Southeast Asian producer said.
