India PVC: CFR India prices fall despite firmer domestic market / Countervailing duty investigation in full swing: sources / Domestic prices up 2-5 rupees/kg

CFR India PVC suspension grade at $875/ mt on Sept. 30, down $20/mt week over week amid a drop in offers heard into India from China, despite a rebound seen in the domestic open market prices due to steady demand, said sources. The rebound in domestic prices was also due to reduced panic amid the high inventories cleared over the last several weeks. Additionally, higher prices in China added strength to open market prices in India, said market sources. Domestic India was heard traded at around 96-100 rupees/kg. Carbide-based PVC prices were heard lower, at around $850/ mt on a CFR India basis, several end users and traders said.
