Purified terephthalic acid prices in India fell day over day but were higher in the week to Oct. 9, tracking feedstock paraxylene values and supported by a wider spread between CFR China and CFR India prices, driven by tighter container availability. PTA CFR India down $14/metric ton day over day and up $46/mt week over week at $1,081/mt on Oct. 9, widening the spread to PTA CFR China to $88/mt. The spread was within tradable indications heard at $80-$90/mt over PTA CFR China, which equated to $1,073-$1,083/mt on a CFR India basis. The spread widened $3/mt week over week.
