India PTA: Prices fall tracking upstream values; tight supply persists / Sep loading in China seen delayed amid Typhoon Saudel / Yarn segment in India seeing strong demand: sources

Purified terephthalic acid prices in India fell in the week to Aug. 28, tracking a fall in feedstock paraxylene values, while persistent supply tightness in domestic and import markets continued. PTA CFR India up $18/mt day over day at $915/mt Aug. 28, maintaining the spread to PTA CFR China at $85/mt. The spread was within indications heard at $80-$85/mt over PTA CFR China, which equated to $910-$915/mt on a CFR India basis. The was below the selling indications heard at PX CFR Taiwan/China plus $100-$120/mt FOB China, which equated to $917-$937/mt CFR India, and above a buying indication heard at PX CFR Taiwan/China plus $170/mt CFR India, which equated to $892/mt CFR India.
