India PVC: Prices lower amid reduced offers from China / Demand slowly picks up ahead of duty deadline / China export prices fall $10-$20/mt this week

Price discussions in the Indian polyvinyl chloride market decreased for the week ending May 13 amid lower offers. CFR India PVC suspension grade at $869/metric ton on May 13, down $10/mt week over week, under the lowest offer at $860/mt for LC at sight, which, upon normalization, would be $870/mt for LC 30 days, according to market sources. In the domestic market, prices for ethylene-based PVC were heard to range between Rupees 78-85/kilogram on an ex-works basis, according to market sources. "There are no absolute figures of imports at the moment," an India-based trader said. The source said importers are looking to import before June 30, when the import duty relaxation expires. "Consumer demand is slowly picking up; price fluctuations have been keeping them at bay," an India-based producer said....
