Asian EDC/VCM: Prices flat amid cautious buyer sentiment / EDC, VCM prices stable amid market uncertainty / Tight VCM supply conditions in SEA EDC

Asian ethylene dichloride spot prices remained stable week over week Oct. 30, as buyers adopted a wait-and-see approach. CFR Far East Asia EDC prices at $180/mt and CFR Southeast Asia prices at $185/mt, both unchanged week over week as of Oct. 30. "There is slight oversupply in the market, and US cargoes continue to be shipped to Asia," a Southeast Asian producer said. The producer added that EDC buyers were adopting a cautious stance amid prevailing uncertainty in the VCM and PVC markets, contributing to unchanged prices. A Northeast Asian producer said EDC buyers were reducing production levels, further pressuring EDC supply-demand fundamentals. EDC FOB US Gulf at $110/mt on Oct. 28, stable week over week.
