Prices in the Indian methanol market remained rangebound amid active buying interest with an expected gap in supply due to a slump in Iranian imports. India domestic ex-tank offers were stable at around Rupees 30.50/kg at Kandla and Mumbai, while offers were around Rupees 31/kg at Hazira. “We don’t expect a massive drop in prices for now due to limited Iranian methanol flow. Kandla port lifting has also improved significantly,” said an Indian trader. Domestic ex-tank trade discussions were heard in the range of Rupees 30-30.25/kg at Kandla and Mumbai ports. Meanwhile, CFR discussions remained in a wide range as buyers and sellers negotiated on a variety of payment terms during the week.
