Methanol prices in India eased Oct. 1 amid easing supply concerns and expectations of fresh Middle Eastern arrivals that weighed on domestic and spot CFR prices, market sources said. CFR India methanol down by $7.50/metric ton day over day at $544.50/mt on Oct. 1 for delivery over Oct. 21-Nov. 15. Thin trade discussions were reported as a wide buy-sell gap continued to weigh on trading momentum, market sources said. Several spot offers were reported; however, trade discussions remained thin as India remained the lowest-netback Asian region. An Oct. 21-Nov. 15 offer was heard at $545/mt CFR India, while another H2 October arrival offer was at $580/mt CFR India.
