Middle East conflict India’s methanol prices inched lower July 17, following a continuous rally in the week starting July 13, as buyers resisted high prices and held back purchases. CFR India methanol at $457.50/metric ton July 17, down $2.50/mt from the previous day but up $39/mt week over week, as market participants sought to book prompt and H1 August supplies amid an escalated Middle East conflict and persistent disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, market sources said. India’s domestic ex-tank offers remained softer day over day, with Kandla, Hazira and Mumbai offers lower by at least Rupees 2-2.50/kg in the range of Rupees 51-52.50/kg.
