FOB China steady at $1,520/mt / Export demand remains weak / Zhejiang Petrochemical undergoes unplanned maintenance

Asian acrylonitrile prices were steady in the week to Aug. 25, amid limited buying interest. In China, prices remained supported amid tight supply due to several ongoing plant maintenance, including Liaoning Kingfa and Jiangsu Sailboat. Zhejiang Petrochemical is also undergoing an unplanned maintenance at its 130,000 metric tons/year ACN line from Aug. 14 to around Sept. 3. acrylonitrile FOB China stable week over week at $1,520/mt Aug. 25. Domestic prices were heard at around Yuan 12,200-12,300/mt Aug. 18, similar to levels of Yuan 12,000-12,500/mt heard last week, according to market sources. However, Chinese producers said it was difficult to export cargoes due to weak buying appetite from regions outside of China.
