Activity in the European MTBE spot market was slow Oct. 24, with no deals heard done across the week. This marked a decrease in traded volumes week over week as at least 1,000 mt traded in the week to Oct. 17. Limited sell interest has been seen during the Market on Close assessment process throughout the week, with only bids seen. There has been feedback of tightening supply in the MTBE market, with talk of volumes being allocated to cover term contracts rather than spot, according to a seller.
