The Asian jet fuel/kerosene complex softened further on April 23 following the emergence of more spot cargoes from South Korea. South Korea’s GS Caltex offered 300,000 barrels of jet A-1 fuel for loading over May 26-30 from Yeosu via a tender closing April 23. This comes after the refiner sold a similar cargo of jet A-1 fuel for loading over May 11-15 at a premium of around $15/b to the Mean of jet fuel/kerosene assessments, FOB Yeosu. The deal was likely privately negotiated, according to trade sources. Brokers pegged the front-month May-June FOB Singapore jet fuel/kerosene swaps time spreads — an indicator of the near-term market sentiment — at plus $11.25/b in midmorning Asian trading on April 23, narrowing from the assessment of plus $13.50/b on April 22.
