Asian Caprolactam: Prices flat as market awaits further impetus / Prices seen stable in near term: buyers, producer / Domestic China prices unchanged WOW

Asian caprolactam prices stayed flat during the week ended Dec. 18, following four consecutive weeks of increases, as the market awaited further cues. CFR Far East Asia caprolactam prices unchanged week over week at $1,265/mt Dec. 18, within tradable indications heard at $1,265-$1,280/mt and also considering stable domestic China prices. In the East China domestic market, molten caprolactam prices remained unchanged at Yuan 9,450-9,500/mt over the week ended Dec. 18, while domestic solid form caprolactam prices were also steady at Yuan 9,600-9,700/mt over the same period.

A caprolactam buyer based in East Asia said the pace of price hikes in mainland China had slowed, with the market now largely awaiting downstream response. “Stability appears to be the main trend for now, and further price gains are likely to be limited,”...
