Asian Butadiene: Down $10/mt to two-month low / Supplies available from Southeast Asia, US, Europe / Local China -CFR China spread widens again

Asian butadiene dropped $10/mt day over day to a two-month low of $1,060/mt CFR China Sept. 19, in line with rising supplies to Asia, while it fell $30/mt from a week earlier. The Asian butadiene market continued to decline in the week starting Sept. 15, in line with rising supplies. Earlier this week, two spot cargoes basis FOB SE Asia were heard to have been traded at minus $70-$90/mt based on a CFR Northeast Asia-linked pricing formula. Tight supply concerns in Southeast Asia continued to ease this week after the recent short-covering activities were completed. Deepsea cargoes were also available in the market for farmonth December laycan.
