Asian Butadiene: Stable on quiet Dec trade / Most buyers covered for Dec / SE Asian market fundamentals stable

The Asian butadiene markets were largely stable in the week ending Nov. 21. Spot activity was thin as most participants remained on the sidelines amid limited availability, according to trade sources. Regional cargoes were limited amid reduced operating rates, with producers in Northeast Asia citing poor production margins and already-sold-out December-loading material. Several buyers were sufficiently stocked for the near term, contributing to the overall lack of buying urgency for December cargoes, observed some traders. An offer for deep-sea material arriving in February was heard at $850/mt CFR China, but no deal was done in the week. In the Chinese domestic markets, deals done were at Yuan 6,800-6,900/mt ex-tank during the day, but a producer noted that most purchases remained on a need-to basis as most buyers were not keen...
