Asian toluene up $9/metric ton day over day at $1,211/mt FOB Korea and up $9/mt at $1,206/mt FOB China on Oct. 2. During the Market on Close assessment process, no bids or offers were observed in the FOB Korea market. A Northeast Asian trader said toluene availability remains limited, adding that the arbitrage window to the US remains closed. A Southeast Asian trader said that toluene and solvent-mx prices are very high now, adding that buyers would be very careful with buying both products as gasoline demand may start slowing down in the US and Northeast Asia.
