Asian toluene up $24/metric ton from the previous close at $954.50/mt FOB Korea and $951.50/mt FOB China on Aug. 28. During the Market on Close process, some bids were seen in the FOB Korea market. The sharpest bid was heard at $945/mt for 3,000 mt of toluene. However, the bid expired without any selling interest. No trades were concluded before the end of the MOC. Earlier in the trading session, a Southeast Asia-based trader said solvent distributors in the region were still looking for September-loading cargoes. Another Southeast Asia-based distributor agreed but added that fixed prices were highly volatile due to an unstable upstream market and the situation in the Middle East.
