Asian Solvent-MX: Prices fall on lower offers / Solvent-MX declines $31/mt / FOB Korea offer at $930/mt attracts no bids / Sinopec hikes domestic price by 250 yuan/mt

solvent-grade mixed xylenes at $929/metric ton FOB Korea on Aug. 28, down $31/mt week over week, below an offer heard at $930/mt. During the Market on Close process, some offers were floated in the FOB Korea market. The sharpest offer was heard at $930/mt for 1,000 mt of solvent-MX. However, the offer expired without any buying interest. No trades were heard to have been concluded at the end of the MOC. China’s Sinopec raised its solvent-MX list price by 250 yuan/mt to 7,250 yuan/mt on Aug. 24. A Southeast Asian trader said some solvent distributors in the region were still looking for September-loading cargoes.
