Solvent-grade mixed xylene $87/metric ton lower week over week at $1,049/mt FOB Korea on April 10, below an offer heard at $1,050/mt, down $88/mt from intraday levels. A Southeast Asian producer said selling indications for solvent-MX remained at a fixed price of $1,500-$1,600/mt. solvent-MX CFR Southeast Asia $34/mt higher week over week at $1,280/mt on April 10, taking into consideration buying indications heard from $1,250/mt to less than $1,300/mt, and higher selling indications heard at $1,500-$1,600/mt. A solvent-MX consumer said crackers continued to run at a low operation rate amid high naphtha costs. Lotte Chemical’s Daesan cracker and Yeochun NCC’s No. 2 and No. 3 units have already been slated for closure.
