Asian PVC: Prices stable to lower on slow demand, elevated costs / Suppliers hike September offers on costs / Chinese market softens amid bearishness / China’s July PVC exports drop 34.58% YOY

Asian polyvinyl chloride prices were stable to softer in the week to Aug. 26, weighed by slow demand and elevated freight costs. PVC CFR China at $820/metric ton Aug. 26, unchanged from the previous week, while CFR Southeast Asia prices were down $5/mt at $740/mt. A Taiwan-based producer was heard to have raised its September PVC offers by $10-$30/mt compared to August, with CIF prices at $840/mt for China and $910/mt for India. As several suppliers raised September offers citing higher costs, market acceptance was heard to be weak.
