Asian PTA prices fell on day Sept. 4 but rose on week on the back of stronger paraxylene markets upstream. the FOB China marker at $876/mt, down $4/ mt on day but up $46/mt on week. In upstream PX markets, the PX CFR Taiwan/China marker at $1,152.67/mt, up $66.67/mt on week. By the end of the week, much of the domestic China discussions moved on from the TA2609 to the TA2701 contract, with the TA2701 contract serving as the basis for most discussions for September on Sept. 4. the domestic China marker at a 350 yuan/mt premium against the TA2701 contract.
