Asian PTA: Prices fall tracking weaker PX / Domestic China premiums fall week over week / Ship delays keep India balances tight

Asian PTA prices rose day over day Aug. 28 but fell week over week, tracking weakness in paraxylene. the FOB China marker at $830/metric ton, up $18/mt day over day and $10/mt lower week over week. In upstream PX markets, the PX CFR Taiwan/China marker at $1,086/mt, down $19/mt week over week. In the domestic China market, floating price premiums for prompt cargoes fell after a spike in the previous week. the China domestic marker at a premium of 195 yuan/ mt against the front-month TA2609 futures contract listed on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange, down from 490 yuan/mt in the previous week.
