A trade was heard in the CFR Southeast Asia market on week for 100 mt of GPPS at $1,360/mt. “While demand is sluggish, it isn’t as poor as people are saying—there’s some demand still,” a Northeast Asia-based producer said. “Still, the demand pickup isn’t linked to seasonality. It’s likely speculative on the buyer’s side, given upstream volatility,” the producer added. “We’re seeing some demand recovery in September, though it’s not significant,” a separate Northeast Asia-based producer said. “We’re opting to wait-and-see,” a China-based buyer said.
