Asian PS: Prices move higher on firmer feedstock / Price hikes expected to continue: producer / Two 200 mt trades heard this week

GPPS CFR China at $1,280/mt July 22, up $60/ mt week over week, reflecting higher feedstock costs as well as a firmer domestic market. “Price increases are expected to continue into the week, as styrene and crude oil prices are still at elevated levels,” a Northeast Asia-based producer said. “Still, even as styrene rebounds, fundamentally, demand for resin has been slow,” a separate Northeast Asia-based producer said. Looking ahead, demand could normalize and edge up from the current lull season in June and July, the producer said. Elsewhere, a Southeast Asia-based trade source said they only saw demand recovery in September.
