The Asian polyethylene markets saw higher offer levels across several grades on Feb. 4, driven by lower import supply. Trade sources observed lower volumes of import cargoes being offered in the region amid some ongoing plant maintenance in key export regions in the Middle East. Consequently, offers for Middle East-origin cargoes were higher week over week. However, buyers and sellers said deal volumes fell in the week as derivative plants across Asia began winding down ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays and the fasting month of Ramadan. Converters were not actively purchasing material in the week, several sources said, with limited deals heard.
