The Asian polyethylene markets softened in the week to Nov. 19 amid continued sluggish downstream demand. HDPE Film was assessed down $5/mt day over day and week over week at $835/mt CFR FE Asia, below offers of $860-$900/ mt and in line with tradable indications of $825-$870/mt. LLDPE butene down $5/mt day over day and $20/mt week over week at $810/mt CFR FE Asia, below offers of $820/mt and in line with tradable indications of $780-$820/mt. Futures fell over the week amid geopolitical uncertainty, including diplomatic tensions between China and Japan. Outlook were bearish in the market and buying appetite remained weak, trade sources said.
