Acetone offer levels stable: SE Asia distributor / Some inquiries on phenol exports from China: trader

Asian phenol and acetone markets stable week over week at $710/metric ton and $500/mt CFR China, respectively, as market activity remained muted with market participants returning from year-end holidays. Ex-tank prices for phenol and acetone in the east China markets were heard at Yuan 5,780-5,800/mt and Yuan 4,150/mt, respectively. Prices for both phenol and acetone in China are expected to remain weak, a trader said. "At this point in time, phenol and acetone markets are expected to remain weak ahead of the [Lunar] New Year holidays," the trader added. Lunar New Year holidays will start on Feb. 17 in 2026. The trader said that acetone inventories in China were "sufficient" currently, while phenol port inventories remain lean as the country relies increasingly on domestic supply instead of imports.
