Asian PET: Prices steady amid rising feedstock costs, subdued demand / Buyers remain cautious, purchasing only as needed / Feedstock prices rise week over week

Asian bottle-grade PET prices were stable in the week to July 22, as higher feedstock costs were offset by subdued buying sentiment. PET FOB China at $1,000/mt on July 22, unchanged from the previous week. Similarly, PET FOB Southeast Asia was also steady at $1,095/mt. Upstream, the ICE September Brent futures contract rose $8.64/b week over week to $93.95/b at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT) on July 22. Feedstock prices followed the upward trend, with Asian PTA at $831/mt FOB China on July 22, up $8/mt week over week. Asian MEG was assessed at $612/mt CFR China, $12/mt higher over the same period.
