Asian paraxylene prices rose day over day Aug. 28, tracking strength in upstream markets, as well as bullishness seen in futures markets. the Asian paraxylene CFR Taiwan/China and FOB Korea markers at $1,086/mt and $1,065/mt, respectively, Aug. 28, both up $18/mt on day. Upstream, the front-month ICE Brent futures contract rose $1.90/b to $89.39/b compared to the previous trading session, while the naphtha C+F Japan marker $16.75/mt higher on day at $827.25/mt. Chinese futures markets rose on day. The PTA2609 and PX2609 contracts listed on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange closed at 5,866 yuan/mt and 8,380 yuan/mt, respectively, falling 110 yuan/mt and 276 yuan/mt, respectively, day over day.
