Asian paraxylene prices rose day over day Oct. 2, amid higher Market on Close assessment process trades seen on the trading session. the Asian paraxylene CFR Taiwan/China and FOB Korea markers at $1,262.67/metric ton and $1,241.67/mt, respectively, Oct. 2, both rising $3/mt on the session. Upstream markets closed lower on the session, with the front-month ICE Brent futures contract falling 58 cents/b to $99.68/b compared to the previous trading session, while the naphtha C+F Japan marker $4.50/mt lower on the session at $909.625/mt. Price discussions moved higher amid thinner trading activity seen on the session, as Chinese market participants were away for Golden Week holidays. During the MOC, three trades were reported.
